Working day - Chef Experience Two
"I recently started my new role as an NPD Chef coming straight from the hotel & restaurant trade. My role as a chef has changed, which was a shock at first, but now there are a lot more areas to bear in mind when developing new products for consumers. I also have to take into account the cost of a product, the commercial side and also the needs of the retail customers we supply. It opens up a whole new learning curve and makes you understand how items are sold in the supermarkets and what guidelines we have to keep to. I am enjoying the new challenge and knowing that I am a part of a company that supplies a major supermarket that feeds millions of people is very satisfying. I cannot wait to see the product ideas that I have developed from start to finish on the supermarket shelf. The biggest boost will be seeing people buy something that I have come up with."
