Creative canteen/café cook or commis/sous chef looking for a completely new experience? This role requires you to manage the kitchen for the Development Team of a manufacturer producing a range of new and exciting chilled food products for the high street consumer. In addition to the day to day housekeeping of the kitchen you will be responsible for planning and organising all kitchen resources to enable the team to produce concepts to an agreed quality and timescale. You will also manage and plan customer and internal dining arrangements ensuring all refreshments and lunch ingredients are prepared and presented to high standards. The preparation of samples and collation of raw materials from the factory is also part of your remit and, with your knowledge of ingredients, you will be able to provide advice and take corrective action when required to ensure new and existing products and components come up to specification. Your administrative and paperwork skills will need to be first class as will your project management skills as this job offers variety! It's all about control and flow, so your ability to rotate stock, ensure raw material availability, manage freezers, ensure hygiene standards, etc will be critical.
